Bentley University: My New Home for Blogging

Bentley University: My New Home for BloggingHello Everyone!

As you may have guessed by the title, I have officially moved into college! I’ve been at my college Bentley University for about two weeks now and I’m loving it. I miss people from back home, but I still like the freedoms (and parties) at college. Despite the obvious college atmosphere during the weekends, the weeks are all about studying.

The Availability Effect: Cherish Your Small Audience

Cherish Your Small Audience“I need more traffic.” “I want more views on my website.” “I want a larger audience.” These are phrases I see a lot online. They are understandable wishes from bloggers and website owners, but why is everyone in such a hurry? Well the quick answer is the fame or fortune. And in that case, I see your point. You want to strike that internet gold and be set for life. I really don’t blame you.

The Psychology of Blogging – Who is Behind the Blog?

Psychology of BloggingBlogging sure isn’t easy. It takes a lot of determination and work. You have to keep up with the latest updates in technology and your own posting schedules. Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme.

Although you can build up to a four-hour work week scenario, it isn’t easy to get there. Blogging can take a lot of your time. And in order for it to grow, it will take constant upkeep. It’s not a set and forget business model. Due to the constant work, blogging takes a specific kind of person. A successful blogger isn’t usually just an average person. It takes certain characteristics for a person to become a successful blogger.

Flynnspiration – Top 5 Most Inspiring Posts, Podcasts, and Videos from Pat Flynn

Flynnspiration from Pat FlynnI don’t know if you’ve heard of the new New York Knicks sensation, Jeremy Lin. Also known as, Linderella, Linsanity, Super Lintendo, etc. He went from sleeping on a teammates couch to the starting point guard with over 20 points in the Madison Garden. I know there is no such thing as overnight success, but that’s as close as it gets.

Although, I don’t believe Pat Flynn went from sleeping on a couch to making thousands on the internet in one night. But I still find his story and the man behind it to be very inspirational…er, I mean Flynnspirational.

My Internship – The Challenge and Response!

Insurance InternshipIf you don’t know already, I’m working at Rogers & Gray Insurance Agency. Well, I’m working in their Business Development department. That’s what they call their marketing department. I focus in Social Media Marketing, so I help my supervisor with their marketing on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and their blog, among other things.

Well I challenged my supervisor to a little competition. Or, at least, one of her old posts. My intentions is to beat that post as far as views and comments. This is part of my New Year’s Resolution for my internship that is making the blog more of a priority. I only have an hour during school time to work there so managing my time is going to be very important.
